Bernice Lowe Flowers


Bernice Lowe Flowers has over three decades of Journalism, Corporate Communications, Organizational Development, and Human Resources Management experience working for government and private organizations. Ms. Flowers has managed and led teams that were responsible for employment forecasting, organizational/workforce development, and succession planning.


Bernice Flowers’ career with the National Passenger Railroad Corporation (Amtrak) allowed her to demonstrate her journalism talents working as a staff writer for Amtrak’s Corporate Communications. Before leaving Amtrak, Ms. Flowers served as Acting Director of the Great American Station Foundation. Additionally, Ms. Flowers created and managed the Strategic Employment Management Initiative (SEMI) Workforce Development Plan for Prince George’s County government.


Ms. Flowers holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and has been the recipient of several professional and community service awards. She has co-produced a television program for a local television station, hosted a talk show “In the Community” for a local radio station, managed two theatrical stage productions, and recently authored her first children’s book “My Awesome Glam Ma and Me.” Ms. Flowers is featured in March 2021 “Everybody’s” Magazine among a group of distinguished women that highlighted contributions of the Caribbean-American community in the development of the United States. Currently, she serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for Prince George’s Community Television.
