2026-2029 STRATEGIC GOALS


The Board of Directors Retreat engaged an expert strategic planning facilitator to guide the Board through discussions on the regional growth of JCGF. The Board concentrated on major steps that would create synergy between outreach strategies, education and training programs and advocacy efforts. 



Strategic Goal 1: Program Innovation & Impact


Advance distinctive, forward-thinking “Leading Age” programs that strengthen safety, engagement, and community connection.

Objective 1.1: Deepen Participant Engagement and Measurable Outcomes

  • Integrate enhanced interactive learning strategies across all programs
  • Integrate trauma informed principles across all programs
  • Measure cognitive growth through pre- and post-assessments
  • Evaluate participant commitment to behavior change in fraud and scam prevention
  • Secure written pledges outlining proactive safety actions, including reporting and intervention

Key Initiative:

  • Pilot integration of financial literacy into the Fraud & Scam Prevention Workshop Series: “Creating Circles of Safety”


Objective 1.2: Launch Three New and Enhanced Programs

  • Incorporate technology training to expand access and engagement
  • Introduce the Forward Together Initiative, featuring three interconnected programs:
  • Mental Wellness Mapping Workshops
  • Enhanced Village Connector Experience (national outreach and instructional call series)

Co-Generational and Intergenerational Facilitator Certificate Training Series:
“Building Communities Where Every Generation Leads”


Strategic Goal 2: Communication & Advocacy


Increase visibility, elevate thought leadership, and strengthen funder recognition.

Objective 2.1: Lead with a Clear Voice on Critical Issues Affecting Older Adults

  • Implement a consistent, multi-channel communications strategy including:
  • Monthly blogs in “Forward Together” newsletters
  • LinkedIn engagement blogs (2–3 times per month)
  • Targeted campaigns, workshops, podcasts and speaking engagements
  • Link impactful commemorative dates to inform monthly newsletter themes
  • Engage guest subject-matter experts as contributing bloggers
  • Develop and launch a podcast series to expand reach and influence

  • Increase visibility with funders through intentional relationship-building

Objective 3.2: Strengthen Funding Strategy Through Data and Planning

  • Conduct annual analysis of funding databases
  • Map Letters of Intent (LOI) and proposal cycles to optimize submission timing and success

Objective 3.3: Strengthen Volunteer Recruitment for Board and Program positions

  • Revitalize website and outreach social media recruitment campaigns
  • Launch “Catalyst for Change” website campaign
  • Recruit 20 volunteers
