50+ Fraud and Abuse Seminar-2

This is the second in a series of six expert panel presentation on Elder Fraud Awareness presented by the Juanita C. Grant Foundation at the

Gwendolyn Britt Senior Activity Center, North Brentwood, MD on April 4, 2019. Brentwood’s Police Chief Hal Althoff provided opening remarks.

Key topics were on being informed of current postal, computer, IRS and Social Security scams that were currently in operation in Prince George’s County. Participants dialogued on handling scam/robo calls, protecting their social security numbers and not becoming involved with a scammer on the phone. Other helpful hints were provided on checking utility and phone bills for spikes in charges. Materials were provided on contact numbers for assistance with scams and alerting authorities on potential scams efforts.
