Becoming a Village Connector Experience Ambassador

The purpose of the Village Connector Experience (VCE) program is to “disrupt” the detrimental cycle of social isolation in older adults. COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the sense of loneliness and physical isolation in those who where already unable to interact with the community due to economic conditions or physical limitations. Normal social activities have been curtailed or eliminated such as attending religious services, senior community centers, coffee meetups and hair salon or barber visits. As a volunteer, you will receive 16 hours of virtual training in customer service and outreach skills. Those that successfully complete the training become certified Ambassadors. Individuals that sign up for VCE are referred to as members and will be assigned according to your availability. Ambassadors will help guide members to a more interactive social routine while tracking their progress. Ambassadors are required to commit to 2-4 hours a week for 6 months, attend the monthly virtual Touchbase meetings and be able to complete forms online. Join us as an Ambassador for a rewarding volunteer experience providing positive interventions to those most in need!
