Ida R. Fletcher


Ms. Fletcher retired from Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital (SEH), Commission on Mental Health Services after 30 years of outstanding service as Program Specialist managing the Medical Staff Office. Ms. Fletcher believes in lifelong learning continuing her goals at University of Maryland Global Campus with an

emphasis on Communications and minor in Gerontology. She has been an entrepreneur for over 30 years expanding her range of business opportunities and community involvement. In addition, Ms.Fletcher is a dedicated volunteer. Ms. Fletcher has held positions as President of the Potomac Valley

National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Board member of NCNW Washington, DC, Recording Secretary for the Phyllis Wheately YWCA and Financial Secretary for the Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall. Ms. Fletcher has also held positions as Chair of Ways and Means for Altrusa International

Montgomery County Chapter, Recording Secretary and Chair of Ways and Means Committee for the Business and Professional Women’s League for Washington DC, Board member of American Cancer Society Southeast Washington, DC and President of Brock Hills Resident Association, Prince George’s County, Maryland.


Ms. Fletcher is the recipient of numerous awards including the Mary McLeod Bethune Recognition Award, the Bethune - Height Legacy Life Award, the Potomac Valley Section Award for Outstanding Leadership, the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award from the Order of the Eastern Star, PHA,Certificate of Appreciation from Cannon Elementary for establishing a Mentoring Program, the Appreciation Awards from Riverdale Baptist PTA, Jericho Academy PTA and Dupont Park Seventh-Day Adventist, the Certificate of Appreciation from the Business and Professional Women's League, the Outstanding Services Award from The Order of the Eastern Star and the Outstanding Performance Awards throughout her government career.
