This is the second consecutive year Ms. Grant was on the Daily Drum to discuss the upcoming Workforce Forum and Hiring event and the challenges and strengths of the 50 + individual re-entering or staying longer in the workforce. By 2029, 20% of the US will be over 65 years old which will and is having a major impact on the work culture. The Workforce Forum and Hiring Event is linking employers to the 50+ worker in a new framework of viewing experience and knowledge as an asset to the team.

The Juanita C. The event was highlighted by the opening presentation in Rennie Forum. The Forum was hosted by S. Orlene Grant, President and Founder of JCGF. Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks gave opening remarks followed by welcoming remarks by Dr. Charlene M. Dukes, President of Prince George’s Community College. Over 600 attendees were able to select and interview with 55 vetted employers in hospitality, healthcare, information technology, retail, federal agencies, school system, pharmaceutical, security, communications, temporary employment, transportation, first responders and construction. Each year the event has outgrown its venue validating the need for attention from employers, higher education institutions and community resources to address the needs of the growing population of the 50+ re-entering and staying in the workforce.
