JCGF Celebrates Recent Washington City Paper Feature

Dec 07, 2022

The newfound exposure will be used as a tool to expand advocacy efforts on behalf of older adults

Capitol Heights, MD, Dec 1, 2022: The Juanita C. Grant Foundation (JCGF) was recently featured in the Washington City Paper's 2022 Giving Guide, a list of nonprofits and philanthropic organizations to support this holiday season. The giving guide was presented in partnership with the Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington. It was announced earlier this year that JCGF had been accepted as one of the latest local nonprofit partners for inclusion in the 2022-23 edition of the Catalogue for Philanthropy's charitable giving guide.

“Giving Guide 2022: Give It Up, D.C.” showcased some of the nearly 50 nonprofits and organizations listed in the 20th class of the Catalogue for Philanthropy with brief descriptions of their work and impact. These organizations address a wide range of issues including improving the environment, providing access to food, supporting the return of incarcerated individuals, and aiding students who need assistance outside the classroom. This article is a gentle reminder to take time to reflect, be grateful, and turn our attention to the community organizations in the greater Washington D.C. area that make a difference in people's lives.

“The Juanita C. Grant Foundation is excited to be selected by the Washington City Paper to be included in their 2022 Giving Guide”, said S. Orlene Grant, JCGF President, and CEO. “As a member of the 2022-2023 class of the Catalogue for Philanthropy, we have experienced a year of growth in delivering solution-based programs and services to improve the lives of older adults. We thank the Washington City Paper for sharing our advocacy efforts in reframing aging and community-based activities. These activities seek to eliminate the root causes of isolation, victimization, and economic instability and to empower elders as they embark on the next phase of their lives.”
