JCGF Receives 2024 SAGECare Platinum Certificate

Capitol Heights, MD, October 11, 2023 We are pleased to announce that the Juanita C. Grant Foundation (JCGF) has recently attained the 2024 SAGECare Platinum Certificate achievement level. This annual training supports our Inclusion Initiative launched in March 2023. JCGF pursued SAGECare certification in support of our wider mission to evolve our programs and services to have a wider, welcoming table. The Inclusion Initiative specifically addresses how we serve older adults in diverse and underserved communities. 

SAGECare is a division of SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders), the country’s oldest and largest non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. SAGECare provides LGBT competency training and consulting on LGBT aging issues to service providers. SAGE also provides support to LGBT older adults in the form of resources, programs and services, working to ensure that LGBT people of all ages have access to the services and support they need to live healthy, engaged lives.

Through our partnership with SAGECare, we are enhancing our Elder Abuse and Fraud Prevention Training Series, the 50+ Refresh Bootcamps, and our social connection program to meet the needs of the LGBT+ community. “Our programs reflect the intersection of age, race, mental health, economic stability and social identity that impacts quality of life as we age. We are enthusiastic about continuing this expansion of JCGF's journey in partnership with SAGECare," said S. Orlene Grant, JCGF President and CEO.
