Juanita C. Grant Foundation Selected as a member of the international Co-Gen Solutions to Social Isolation & Loneliness Innovator’s Community of Practice Journey
Continued Partnership Will Expand Services for Older Adults
(Capitol Heights, MD) – (October 14, 2024) – The Juanita C. Grant Foundation (JCGF), local and national champion for amplifying the voice of older people, has proudly announced its selection as a member of the Co-Gen Solutions to Social Isolation and Loneliness Community of Practice Journey. This international group is comprised of 161 nonprofits and advocates providing services to younger and older people. JCGF is one of four Maryland organizations that was selected. The goal of the community is to develop fresh and innovative approaches to bring together younger and older people together to begin sharing conversations, sharing experiences and form lasting bonds breaking generation segregation.
Thanks to this exposure, JCGF will be able to further expand the scope of services it provides to younger and older peoples emphasizing common interests and opportunities for greater community involvement to eliminate social isolation and loneliness. “I was so pleased the Juanita C. Participation in the Co-Gen Community of Practice promises increased visibility, growth, and support for the foundation. Through Co-Gen's endorsement, JCGF will be empowered to reach more communities through including multiple generations and form strategic partnerships more effectively to eradicate social isolation and loneliness.
The recognition comes as a timely boost for the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives, particularly its comprehensive Village Connector Experience, which serves as a crucial platform to combat loneliness and build supportive, intergenerational relationships for older adults. The continued focus on Elder Abuse, Domestic Violence and Fraud Prevention Workshops and 50+ Workforce Initiative programs aligns with JCGF’s goal of empowering older peoples with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves, thrive economically and thrive in their communities.
